Regulations for the Appointment of Professional Technical Personnel for Teaching

Article 1 To meet teaching needs, the Department may appoint professional technical personnel with practical experience to undertake teaching duties. These Regulations are established in accordance with the University Guidelines for the Appointment of Professional Technical Personnel for Teaching.

Article 2 The ranks and qualifications of professional technical personnel serving as instructors shall follow the standards set forth in the University Guidelines for the Appointment of Professional Technical Personnel for Teaching.

Article 3 The primary consideration in appointing professional technical personnel for teaching shall be expertise in the field of semiconductors.

Article 4 The recognition of professional work, years of service, achievements, special expertise, or accomplishments for appointed personnel shall be as follows:

1. Professional work and years of service: Full-time positions in semiconductor-related enterprises or government research institutions, with more than six years of relevant experience and outstanding performance.

2. Achievements, special expertise, or accomplishments: Recognition in domestic or international semiconductor-related professional fields, meeting teaching needs, with verifiable evidence; or possession of advanced-level technical certificates or professional engineer licenses relevant to departmental courses.

Article 5 Appointed professional technical personnel shall provide written documentation of prior work experience related to the nature of the courses to be taught.

Article 6 Matters not covered in these Regulations shall be handled in accordance with the University Guidelines for the Appointment of Professional Technical Personnel for Teaching.

Article 7 These Regulations shall be implemented upon approval by the Department Faculty Review Committee, the College Faculty Review Committee, and the University Faculty Review Committee, and ratification by the President. Amendments shall follow the same procedure.
