Regulations for Project Implementation

Department of Semiconductor Engineering, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology

Article 1 To fulfill the department’s mission of integrating theory with practice and to encourage students in undertaking practical projects, the Department of Semiconductor Engineering (hereinafter referred to as “the Department”) hereby establishes the Regulations for Project Implementation (hereinafter referred to as “the Regulations”).

Article 2 Project implementation is a compulsory course, conducted during both the first and second semesters of the third academic year, spanning one full academic year.

Article 3 Faculty members of the Department may serve as project advisors. Student group assignments shall be finalized in the semester preceding project implementation.

Article 4 Project groups shall be formed voluntarily by students. Each group shall consist of 3–5 members (adjustable depending on actual circumstances) and must obtain approval from the advising faculty. A Project Application Form (Appendix 1) shall be submitted.

Article 5 Credit allocation for project implementation:

  1. First Semester: Evaluation by the advising faculty. Passing grade is 60 points.

  2. Second Semester:

    • (1) Students must participate in the Department’s internal project competition held in March each academic year.

    • (2) A written report and oral examination shall be conducted. The oral examination committee shall consist of three full-time or part-time faculty members of the University. An Oral Examination Application Form (Appendix 2) must be submitted before Week 14.

    • (3) Evaluation criteria include: Appearance and attitude 15%, Report content 40%, Time management 10%, Response and handling of questions 25%, and Team spirit 10%. The evaluation form is provided in Appendix 3.

    • (4) A formal written report (format specified in Appendix 4) and a complete CD copy shall be submitted in triplicate between Weeks 15–18.

    • (5) Final grading: Evaluation by the advising faculty. Passing grade is 60 points. Failure to submit required materials within the specified timeframe or failure to participate in the project competition, without special circumstances, shall result in a failing grade for the semester.

Article 6 Outstanding projects from the Department’s internal competition in March (as determined by relevant University regulations) shall represent the Department in college-level or national project competitions.

Article 7 Any matters not covered by these Regulations shall be submitted to the Department Curriculum Committee for discussion and resolution.

Article 8 These Regulations shall be implemented upon approval by the Department Affairs Meeting. Amendments shall follow the same procedure.
